Plastic feel

A little disappointed with the material. I love the canvas material used in an other model but this one feels like plastic (it must be since it’s vegan) and I get really sweaty in them. Real leather would be awesome.

I’m sorry to hear that the material of the Derby didn’t match your expectations. The upper is made from Oleatex® vegan leather, a water repellent, flexible material with up to 60 percent bio based content. It’s designed as an ethical alternative to traditional leather, but we completely understand that the feel can be quite different and that material preference is very personal. Increased warmth or sweat can also occur depending on the individual foot and intended use.

As a company, we’re committed to producing fully vegan footwear, so real leather isn’t an option we offer, even though we understand why you’d prefer it for this type of shoe.

ok in toe box area, but very shallow and low volume. even without insoles, its for both derby and loafers.

The Derby is designed with an adjustable instep fit using laces, which usually makes it suitable for a variety of foot volumes. However, depending on individual foot shape, some people may still experience a lower-volume feel, especially over the instep.

Care instructions

How do I clean my faux leather models?

To clean your faux leather model, first remove loose dirt with a dry, soft shoe brush. If necessary, use lukewarm water and a mild cleaning solution. Wipe off any excess product with a damp cloth. Ensure the shoes dry in a well-ventilated area at room temperature after cleaning or if they get wet. Avoid drying near or on a heater, as this can make the faux leather brittle. For prolonged storage, keep the shoes in a well-ventilated, sun-protected area. Our faux leather models are not machine washable.

To maintain, protect, and refresh the color of the faux leather, you can use a faux leather care. Alternatively, you can use a waterproofing spray. The waterproofing spray is not necessary for the Patrol Winter, as this model is already 100% waterproof. With our Chelsea models, however, the use of a waterproofing spray is particularly recommended for the elastic ankle piece. To complete the care routine, lightly spritz the inside of your shoes with an odor-neutralizing spray.
