The beautifully soft, water-repellent faux leather, along with our popular minimalist sneaker sole provides maximum flexibility and barefoot feel. Too big for my skinny ankles

I’ve been wearing barefoot shoes for about 5 years, most pairs are Vivobarefoot brand, which run narrower as far as barefoot brands go. I wanted a cute pair of slip ons for a vacation that would be versatile to dress up, so got the Metallic rose color. I originally got a size 37 (US 7) which were too tight in the toes. Decided to go up to a size 39 (US 8) to wear with insoles. These ended up being too wide in the tow box area and with my skinny ankles, so my feet were swimming. I ended up still bringing them on my trip and tried to use padding under the top and sides but these are unfortunately not going to work for me long term and I am unable to return at this time. If you have low volume feet, these may not work for you. The color is fun and the construction is good, the suede is comfy and the soles are pretty flexible if you are a barefoot shoe convert. If you have high volume and wide feet these are likely a good choice.

You're absolutely right – the Droptop Luxe is best suited for feet with a medium instep volume. For lower-volume feet or flatter insteps, we generally recommend adding a removable insole to help improve the fit. We're truly sorry to hear that this solution didn’t work out for you in the long run.

We always aim to design shoes that accommodate a wide range of foot shapes and volumes, but unfortunately, not every model will be the perfect fit for everyone.

If you’re still on the lookout for a barefoot shoe with a similar look but better adjustability, you might want to check out our Original Luxe model. Thanks to its laces, it can be adapted more precisely to different foot shapes – maybe that would be a better match for you!

Care instructions

How do I clean my faux leather models?

To clean your faux leather model, first remove loose dirt with a dry, soft shoe brush. If necessary, use lukewarm water and a mild cleaning solution. Wipe off any excess product with a damp cloth. Ensure the shoes dry in a well-ventilated area at room temperature after cleaning or if they get wet. Avoid drying near or on a heater, as this can make the faux leather brittle. For prolonged storage, keep the shoes in a well-ventilated, sun-protected area. Our faux leather models are not machine washable.

To maintain, protect, and refresh the color of the faux leather, you can use a faux leather care. Alternatively, you can use a waterproofing spray. The waterproofing spray is not necessary for the Patrol Winter, as this model is already 100% waterproof. With our Chelsea models, however, the use of a waterproofing spray is particularly recommended for the elastic ankle piece. To complete the care routine, lightly spritz the inside of your shoes with an odor-neutralizing spray.
