Why wear barefoot shoes?
The search for a barefoot shoe that is vegan and not a running shoe has been a challenge! I'm so happy with my Feelgrounds hightops! The recycled material is a huuuuge bonus and they look so cute! They fit true to size (although I measured my feet incorrectly at first and they made the return process simple!) and so far have no areas of discomfort.
These shoes are great! I normally don't like how barefoot shoes look, but I'll actually wear these - by far the best looking barefoot shoe in the game (in my opinion). The soles on these are holding up really well too, I've even had them out hiking a few times (obviously not what these shoes are made for) and you can't even tell they're wearing on the bottom. It's a fantastic daily/casual wear!
I got the courtside shoes and added the cork inserts (because I’m “newish” to barefoot street shoes). I’ve been wearing minimalist shoes for exercise for a few years now and have been looking to get into a casual and business barefoot shoe.
Let me tell you- not only are these adorable, but they’re incredibly comfortable!!!
I went on a marathon shopping day for their first trip out of the box, shopping for over 6 hours putting miles on the shoes with little sitting, and my feet feel like I haven’t done any of that today!
I need all of the barefoot shoes now and so look forward to replacing my closet with feelgrounds!
Aside from these shoes being very comfortable and feeling nice and soft in the toe area, I actually get compliments on these shoes from people who have no idea what minimalist shoes even are. I did swap the white laces for black and it really makes them pop. It made them look more like the panda style shoe that is super popular. I’m a musician and I wear these on stage because they are very “normal” looking. I would absolutely love the get some of these in other fun colors like blue… or high tops?! That would be amazing!
As far as fit… these are accommodating for higher volume feet. I have lower volume, so I like to add an insole when I know I’ll be walking far or standing around for a long time. There’s also more vertical toe room in the toebox than is typical of most barefoot brands. Most brands feel like the shoe is very flat in the toe and the top pushes my toes down, but these have plenty of wiggle room even when I’m wearing them with thicker socks and an insole. The other nice thing about these shoes is that they don’t hurt the side of my big toe when my toes splay as I walk. My splay is super wide (just over 13cm), so it does press against the side, but the wall is very soft and doesn’t cause any irritation or pain.
I definitely recommend getting these shoes! The only way they could be better is if they came in high tops!
Toe box is plenty wide enough for my toes to splay. I have a low volume foot and skinny ankles so I was concerned about them feeling secure in the ankle and heel area. With the lacing system that is not a problem. They feel very secure with no heel slippage. The sole is thinner than my Vivobarefoot shoes so I really feel the ground. For walking on concrete and asphalt I would recommend ordering the optional insoles for a little more comfort. Great flexibility and breath ability. I would recommend.
I LOVE THESE SHOES THEY ARE SO COMFORTABLE, I WILL GET ME THE RED ONES NEXT
These boots are seriously perfect! Well made, very comfortable, super cute, vegan, and barefoot. Highly recommended!
I got these boots (+ the elastic shoelaces) before a trip where I was walking around a lot in 35-49°F degree weather and these boots were so comfortable. They kept my feet warm and dry, even when I was stepping though shallow puddles in the rain.
Overall I'm really happy I got these boots, but I do still have some suggestions:
- The toe box/mid step areas are wide, but I think they could be just a bit wider. I got my normal size, and originally considered returning them to repurchase a size bigger bc they were a bit snug, but didn't want to lose the return shipping cost and thought they might stretch a little as I wear them. IDK if they stretched, but I found thin socks gave me a good fit.
- I would love some kind of loop on the back to pull them on easier. I think there's a tab to help with that, but I can't really grip it well enough when putting on my shoes.
I love these, they are good looking and minimal. I don't know why a lot of other brands look wack in comparison. Definitely recommend and true to size
In love with my Highrise knit shoes. I wish they had them in more sizes for my colors. I would be going broke right now. Super comfortable and true to size for my wide feet. Will get more!
I like these a lot. They are extremely comfortable and I love the way they look. Water stays out fairly well (not completely since there are holes at the top of this design). I can walk around in them for several hours and not feel any pain. Any soreness I do feel is from the muscles building in my feet, which never lasts long and is only noticeable when I am using my feet (same as any muscle soreness after exercise). You know it’s good for your feet when the dirt builds everywhere on the sole except for around the arch of your foot!
Almost a little to wide, but very comfortable. I'm on my feet for 9 hours a day as a hairdresser. My feet, knees and lower back are not soar at the end of the day like before. So glad I tried them.
I love that these are vegan, comfortable and nice enough to wear to work.
Love this company. The shoes are well made and stylish. The service is great and shipping is FAST. I have 8 pair. These shoes helped me cure my plantar fasciitis in my high-arched foot. My feet have never been more functional. Thanks!
Great quality so comfortable and stylish I absolutely love them. They are so well made!!
